Before you add it
Start with the tracking number from the shop, sender email, label, or carrier page. Copy the full number if possible, including letters at the beginning or end.
If the shop shows several shipment numbers, add each physical parcel separately so every delivery has its own status and timeline.
- Copy the full tracking number, not the order number.
- Check that the number has at least 8 letters or digits.
- Remove extra spaces if you typed the number manually.
- Confirm which carrier is handling the parcel.
In ParcelTag
Use the add-parcel flow from the dashboard. ParcelTag may detect the carrier automatically, but you can change it before saving if the detected carrier is not right.
Add a short label that describes the item or order. This makes the parcel easier to scan than a tracking number alone.
- Paste the tracking number into the tracking number field.
- Confirm or choose the carrier.
- Add a useful label, such as the store name or item name.
- Submit the parcel and wait for the first tracking check.
After it is saved
New tracking numbers sometimes do not update immediately. The carrier may have created the label before receiving the parcel, or the next public scan may not have happened yet.
Keep the parcel in your dashboard and check the timeline once new events appear. For important deliveries, adjust notification preferences so the key status changes reach you.
- Open the parcel detail page to confirm the label and carrier.
- Check notification settings for out for delivery, delivered, or exception updates.
- Give new labels or quiet tracking numbers time to receive a carrier scan.
- Compare with the official carrier page if something looks wrong.
