Track PostNL with context
PostNL tracking events are stored as a timeline, so you can see the full history of a shipment from collection through sorting to delivery without switching between sites.
Labelling each parcel by item or order makes a mixed inbox of deliveries much easier to scan than a list of tracking numbers.
PostNL tracking number formats
PostNL domestic Netherlands shipments typically use 3S-prefixed barcodes followed by 13 alphanumeric characters. International items use the UPU S10 format: two letters, eight digits, and a two-letter country suffix such as NL.
Paste the full barcode including the 3S prefix or letter prefix when adding a PostNL parcel to ParcelTag.
About PostNL
PostNL is the former state postal service of the Netherlands, privatised in 2011 following its separation from TNT. It is the largest postal and parcel operator in the Netherlands and delivers to all Dutch addresses six days a week.
PostNL handles around 400 million parcels per year and operates an international network that routes parcels from Asia and Europe through its Dutch sorting infrastructure before onward delivery.
PostNL status messages explained
"Shipment registered" means PostNL has the shipment data but not yet the parcel. "Shipment picked up" means the parcel is in the PostNL network. "In sorting" means it is being processed at a sorting centre. "Out for delivery" means it is on the delivery round for your address that day.
"Delivered to neighbour" or "delivered to pickup point" means delivery was completed at an alternative location — a notification card is usually left at the delivery address. "Delivery attempt" means PostNL tried but could not complete delivery.
